Blythe Christmas In The Big City

Christmas and holiday time is almost here!  I was out getting sushi this past weekend and had a couple Petite Blythe dolls in my purse so I had to take some quick snaps when we were at the lovely decked out shops on Queen Street West.

I did not dare go for any shopping on Black Friday because it's starting to get a bit crazy here in Toronto too according to the news last night!  I personally avoid it all but I will go to a music/dvd store, book store or thrift shop instead. I have never even stayed out all night for anything but if they started selling Blythe dolls at stores, who knows?! LOL

We were also at Royal Lighting to look for a couple lamps then stopped into Pusateri's Fine Foods that is packed full of Italian delectable, groceries, flowers and where they have some amazing Christmas displays including a Middie Blythe doll sized rotating Ferris wheel!  I have video of it too on my Facebook that I made public if you would like to see.  If you are nice then feel free to add me if you like, also. :)  Oh and they had some really great samples there like free LaVazza coffee, apple crumble cake, fancy crackers and more!

I took some general city shots at Yonge and Dundas, Dundas Square this weekend too.  Toronto is always so decked out during Christmas and New Years.  It's a great time to visit!  Speaking of visits my family will be celebrating both Christmas at New Years at my house!  I am making a feast of yummy food, snacks and treats!  I can't wait!!
We noticed downtown Toronto storefront, across from Eaton's Centre, and they still had the same display as last year but it was still amazing.  The people in these displays look like little dolls!  Love it!!

I hope that each and every kind dolly person has a wonderful holiday this year and since I celebrate Christmas I want to wish all the good people out there a Very Merry Christmas and A Joyous New year!  All the best in 2015!!!

Hugs,
Annablythedoll xo

The "Blythe Bible"

I was sent a Blythe Folder containing pretty much the beginnings of Kenner Blythe Dolls information, by the Toy Hunter, Jordan Hembrough, for my collection.  He told me that he was sending me what he called a "Blythe Bible", a file filled basically with designs, pricing, handwritten notes, etc. from a former Kenner employee that he had acquired during one of his hunts. The Toy Hunter said that I could post the contents to share with all Blythe Collectors too and he also told me that it's been over 40 years that it was not subject to any copy write restrictions. It's all photocopies that I have, with a few color copies, and not the originals, but they're still great for referencing! If you are a major collector of Blythe dolls this is probably like plastic crack for you. lol Others may not really care about these but I did find them very interesting myself. He sent it to me a few years ago but unfortunately it wasn't the right time to post it with all that n...

Blythe Doll Care & Tips ( Stains & Storage )

There is so much information out there concerning Blythe doll tips and care that I thought that I would combine what I learned from my own experience over the years and all that I found out from researching the web into this single blog. Storage - When storing blythe dolls it seems that often there is a chemical reaction with plastics that causes melting. So when storing or traveling with your dolls, please be sure that the doll is not touching other plastic (stands, shoes - especially Rosebuds, dolls arms & legs, etc.). Plastic from the face has even melted when the legs of another doll has touched, so please do not store together or any other part touching will melt the doll if stored, it is ideal not to put the dolls together and keep separate. I wouldn't even store the doll contacting the dolls own arms and/or legs to the face. Some even wrap their dolls in a piece of cotton. Stains - Please be careful of denim, tights and black & red clothing. They are probl...

"Blythe Bible" From The Toy King, Jordan Hembrough! #toyhunter

I don't even know how to begin on this one!  I thought I knew pretty much everything about 1972 Kenner Blythe Dolls.  Well actually I did not!  Little did I know that there was a lot more that had been tucked away for decades until recently.  I'm not sure if you guys remember me blogging about this amazing new show on Travel Channel called Toy Hunters ?  Well soon after that I discovered Jordan on Facebook and started asking him about the show and if Kenner Blythes would be featured.  He was so awesome and answered me, it's all on this blog, so I continued to support him and his show. Out of the blue he sends me a note this past summer stating that he had something for my Blythe collection?!!!  I was so very pleasantly surprised!!!  I had no idea that he would do that because what I did I did because I truly and greatly enjoyed the show.  I did not look for anything in return.  HOWEVER, it wasn't like I was gonn...
