IKEA Has A New Furniture Set That Fits Neo Blythe Dolls! The HUSET Bedroom!!

So I noticed on Facebook a couple collectors of Blythe from Asia post pictures of this new set so I went and checked the IKEA website and nothing?  I decided to call my nearest store and they did actually have 17 in stock but that night they would only have 16 left! lol  I grabbed one as soon as we were in the right spot.  Seemed like forever before we got there since we had to walk about half way through.  So I see a single set on the top and no display.  Then my husband pointed out the rest of them at the bottom on the floor.  I was a bit disappointed because my dolly Veronica, my LL Blythe doll neo, didn't really get to a chance to play. lol  And I couldn't document their display.  Oh well.
I just took a quick picture of my dolly in front of the box.  Woooo.. fun. lol  Anyways, I found the lighting was sooooooo bright and not warm like before?  Maybe I hadn't been there in a while.  It's like get your stuff and get out. lol  I want to play around with my dolly for a while, okay. Whatever! lol  Oh well at least they actually had it in stock.
So now IKEA has 2 sets for your 12" full size neo Blythe dolls!  A bedroom and a living room set.  They are so cute and I love how bright and colorful they are.  Perfect for my dolly condo diorama!  Hope they make a kitchen next.  I would love a table with 4 chairs, cabinets and a sink, fridge and stove too.  I bet it would be really cute!
So here is the only display of the LR set with a $4.99 CND plus tax back drop with 4 different rooms.  I decided to pass on that.  I do want to make my own one of these days.  I can still get away with using my IKEA shelf right now.

So when I got the BR set home I was so impressed at how cute it was and perfect for my Kozy Kape Kiwi!!  The foot of the bed actually slides out to accommodate more dolls of different sizes.  What a great idea!

Oh!  I forgot to mention that I used the $15 IKEA gift card I received last year for being inconvenienced by having to come back to get a new shelf top due to their forklift damage I was able to buy my new set for only $4.99 CND plus tax!!  Yay!!!

I really like IKEA doll furniture and shelving because it no only looks good but it's very affordable.  This hobby is expensive enough so it really helps. :)

Here are my former IKEA posts about the HUSET LR Set and the KALLAX shelf I got aka dolly condo, to house my dollies, accessories and furniture sets! Yes it's that big!

Well that's for now.  I hope everyone is doing great and having a wonderful week so far.

Best,

The "Blythe Bible"

I was sent a Blythe Folder containing pretty much the beginnings of Kenner Blythe Dolls information, by the Toy Hunter, Jordan Hembrough, for my collection.  He told me that he was sending me what he called a "Blythe Bible", a file filled basically with designs, pricing, handwritten notes, etc. from a former Kenner employee that he had acquired during one of his hunts. The Toy Hunter said that I could post the contents to share with all Blythe Collectors too and he also told me that it's been over 40 years that it was not subject to any copy write restrictions. It's all photocopies that I have, with a few color copies, and not the originals, but they're still great for referencing! If you are a major collector of Blythe dolls this is probably like plastic crack for you. lol Others may not really care about these but I did find them very interesting myself. He sent it to me a few years ago but unfortunately it wasn't the right time to post it with all that n...

Blythe Doll Care & Tips ( Stains & Storage )

There is so much information out there concerning Blythe doll tips and care that I thought that I would combine what I learned from my own experience over the years and all that I found out from researching the web into this single blog. Storage - When storing blythe dolls it seems that often there is a chemical reaction with plastics that causes melting. So when storing or traveling with your dolls, please be sure that the doll is not touching other plastic (stands, shoes - especially Rosebuds, dolls arms & legs, etc.). Plastic from the face has even melted when the legs of another doll has touched, so please do not store together or any other part touching will melt the doll if stored, it is ideal not to put the dolls together and keep separate. I wouldn't even store the doll contacting the dolls own arms and/or legs to the face. Some even wrap their dolls in a piece of cotton. Stains - Please be careful of denim, tights and black & red clothing. They are probl...

"Blythe Bible" From The Toy King, Jordan Hembrough! #toyhunter

I don't even know how to begin on this one!  I thought I knew pretty much everything about 1972 Kenner Blythe Dolls.  Well actually I did not!  Little did I know that there was a lot more that had been tucked away for decades until recently.  I'm not sure if you guys remember me blogging about this amazing new show on Travel Channel called Toy Hunters ?  Well soon after that I discovered Jordan on Facebook and started asking him about the show and if Kenner Blythes would be featured.  He was so awesome and answered me, it's all on this blog, so I continued to support him and his show. Out of the blue he sends me a note this past summer stating that he had something for my Blythe collection?!!!  I was so very pleasantly surprised!!!  I had no idea that he would do that because what I did I did because I truly and greatly enjoyed the show.  I did not look for anything in return.  HOWEVER, it wasn't like I was gonn...
